COLT FOAL EX QUALITY PURDEY BY CONTENDRO-1

ABOUT

An extremely elegant and very blood looking bay colt foal out of the Tokyo Olympics selected mare Quality Purdey who was 2nd at Pau CCI5* by Contendro-1 who sired the 2022 Kentucky CCI5* winner Fischer Chipmunk FRH and the Rio Olympic Eventer NZB Campino.

Fischer Chipmunk FRH ridden by Germany's Michael Jung who WON Kentucky last year on an FEI CCI5* record breaking score.

Michael Jung and Fischer Chipmunk FRH also represented the German Event Team at the Tokyo Olympics.

The extraordinary rarity of CCI5* International Eventing mares.

Event Horse breeders, riders & producers all around the world are more than aware of the exceptional rarity of CCI5* mares and even more so the extremely ones that have had top 3 placings at CCI5*. That being the case, Quality Purdey ranks alongside some od the word's very best CCI5* mares in recent times.

Quality Purdey was selected to represent the Australian Olympic Event Team with Chris Burton at the Tokyo Olympics, was 2nd at Pau CCI5* in 2018 , won Saumur CCI4*-L and just beat the stallion Upsilon to the post in the process.  Quality Purdey won Le Pin Au Haras CCI4*-S finishing on her dressage score and was both 2nd and 3rd at Aachen CCI4*-OS finishing on just her dressage score on both occasions.

Quality Purdey's dam Larina 50 is also the dam of the 1.40m Show Jumper Chester 241.

Quality Purdey's sire Quality show jumped in pure show jumping himself at 1.50m. Quality has sired 23 pure show jumpers competing in pure Show Jumping in classes between 1.50m and 1.70m

The impact of Contendro-1 as a sire

Contendro-1 has previously held the title of WBFSH Leading Sire of Eventers in the World on a number of occasions and in doing so he has also sired two Olympic Eventers in Fischer Chipmunk FRH (Michael Jung) and NZB Campino who had huge success at CCI5* and was selected for the Rio Olympcis with Sir Mark Todd to represent New Zealand.

Contendro-1 has sired Olympic horses in all three of the key FEI Olympic disciplines of Eventing, pure Show Jumping and Pure Dressage.  He is still today a very highly sort after sire for breeders wishing to produce Grand Prix Show Jumpiers and Grand Prix Dressage horses.

Contendro-1's impact on 1.50m - 1.70m jumping breeding

In all, Contendro-1 has produced a phenomenal 165 horses competing in pure show jumping in classes from 1.50m right up to 1.70m.  With an ever increasing use of 1.60m jumping breeding in International Event Horse breeding this makes this colt especially appealing. 

This foal was born on the 22nd of May and is very blood, modern and elegant looking possibly more in the model of his dam than his sire and is dark bay like both of his parents.
